Although the first detailed description of "epilepsy" is more than 3000 years old, multiple aspects of the disease remain unexplained. While it is now known that there is no such thing as "the epilepsy", but that epilepsies are network disorders with sometimes very different manifestations, the exact circuitry of these networks is not completely understood yet.
